Monthly Archives: June 2012

Hello lovely readers. If you have been reading my blog, you would have noticed that the blog has a new look. And those of you who are new, my blog got a makeover. I had earlier said that I would be having new features on my blog. Well this is the first segment. I will review beauty products that I use (which is definitely going to be rare) , because I am not a make-up hoarder. But I do have the basic essentials which a girl needs and I shall try my best to give you honest reviews about them. This shall be a weekly feature.
Today I am going to review a lipstick which I recently bought from AMBIKA PILLAI. I was searching for a perfect red lipstick, and bam I found one that suits my colour tone perfectly. The colour is called RED HOT.
BRAND- Ambika Pillai
PRICE- INR 420 (approx) after 40% discount.
the light and the mirror
I hope you can read the ingredients properly.

This colour is perfect for everybody. My complexion is wheatish and suits me very well. Rather I would say it’s the perfect red for me. It has tangy undertones which is said to be the best for wheatish complexion. You will have to swipe it twice to cover pigmentation of the lips.
The colour stays for good 5 hours.
The texture of the lipstick is the best part. Its creamy and glides over the lips amazingly. But at the same time it gives a matte look.
The packaging of the material is also good. The mirror and the clickable light is so awesome. It helps to use the lipstick where you do not have enough light. I have not seen this kind of thing in any of the product and this feature makes it stand out of all the lipsticks.
AVAILIBILITY- I am not sure if its available everywhere. I stay in delhi so I found it here.
WILL I REPURCHASE- yes. I am looking forward to buy a few more shades in this range

OVERALL VERDICT- the lipstick is a beautiful red which will suit almost all skin tones. The texture is good and it gives a matt look. The staying power is around 4 hours with eating and drinking and later it leaves a red-pink sort of tint. I would love to buy this product again only if its on discount. If I had to pay the original price, I would go for brands like MAC.

RATING- 3.5/5

I hope the review was helpful. Do share your views about the product.

P.S- The product was purchased by me.

Hello everybody. This might be the last post in this old look. Im excited to be giving the blog a makeover. Thank you all for supporting me.
Today’s post, is about the F/W collection from DOLCE&GABBANA woman. The snippets are from their ad campaign. The theme of their fall winter 2013 collection is BAROQUE, which means a period of artistic style that used exaggerated motion and clear, easily interpreted detail to produce drama, tension, exuberance, and grandeur in sculpture, painting, etc. the style started around 1600 in Rome, Italy. So basically their designs are roman inspired.
The F/W ’13 collection had lace detailing, gold embroidery, cross stitching in the collection. The gold embroidery and the use of floral tapestry just takes the outfit to a whole new level and gives it an amazing look. The collection is extremely elegant and poise. The base colour of the collection is black and different elements have been used around the colour.
I am in love with the collection. This collection is my style. If I get a chance I would wear something like this . I like every bit of the collection, from the clothes, to the accessories, to the shoes. What is there not to like in it. I guess we are not over with lace yet. I am not disappointed.
Take a look at the pictures.
These are a few snippets from the collection.
How beautiful is it. im loving everything. I cannot pick a favourite. Everything is so magical and beautiful. I wish I could just get one of these gorgeous pieces.
I am new at this and pardon me if I have made any mistakes. I would love your suggestions and rectify the mistakes done if any.

p.s-The images do not belong to ‘Its not just fashion’.

Today is one of those days when I have been feeling bad and sad and so hopeless about everything. I slept and never got out of my bed. I don’t understand why and how can a single person influence our lives so much? Is it the expectation that we have from that person that on not being fulfilled hurt us? But as humans we always expect. I would not expect anything if I dint do anything for someone. But when someone has given their heart and soul into the relationship, shouldn’t they ever expect anything? My father always said one thing to me, “Do not have a lot of friends. They will extract everything from you and leave you alone. Believe in quality friendship.” As a kid I thought he is just saying it. But now I realize he was right. I will try my best to keep this in my mind. Never think a person is going to give everything or at least something to equal to what you put into the friendship. Lesson learnt.
I read this poem on google and thought it would be perfect here-
   Left alone in the past
                                                                 by Brande
Left alone in the past
Forgotten friendships buried, never meant to last
She walked away from me
Why couldn’t I foresee?
Time standing still
Another way to deal, another pill
The sky is gray with hate
One thing tore us apart, your fate
Now what will you do?
Who will confide in you?
Remember the times we shared?
Remember how well we paired?
The consequences are tough
You only knew how to treat me rough
Who is next in line?
Will you, too, break their spine?
Look at what you’ve done
This time I will stand in front of you, I won’t run
Don’t bother me anymore
All you touch, you tore
What you wanted, you took
Now I glance back, I take one last look
You left me alone in your past
Forgotten friendships buried, never meant to last

I hope you got what I meant  and you had a good read.
On another note, I have decided to change the look of my blog. I know its too soon. But I just cant help it. I get bored with things easily. The new blog will have some amazing new things. Stay tuned and keep reading. Thanks for the love and support.

New Love

Hey everybody. If you are following me on twitter you would know I am a little unwell. Whenever I feel down, I get super irritated and super lonely. I miss my mother and my closest friends. Therefore I needed something to just cheer me up or just keep me busy. So I got up from my bed, left the hostel and headed to the market and bought some stuff. I decided to make some accessories for myself. I wanted to give it a try. And I must say im not disappointed. I think I did a pretty decent job. Its not that great, but im just in the learning phase and I wish to get better at this. But I am sure of one thing that i am not getting bored with this thing anytime soon. Its my new found love.
How did you like it? Is it nice? Please do give me your opinions on this. I shall do an outfit post soon wearing it.  I am going to make more pieces, they will be different than these, probably better version of these.

Do share your thoughts and views.

Work Wear Worked Out- OOTD

Hello ladies, and hello if there are any gentlemen. How was the weekend and how are you handling the Monday blues? Mine was good and bad respectively. I know I sometimes whine a lot. I was a little disheartened to see my blog did not have as much viewers as it had the second and third day.  I had this weird feeling, a feeling of losing something. Then I realized its just been 6 days since I started writing. Things take time. Nobody  succeeds overnight. But I cant help it. I am a virgo. Perfection is in my nature. But I made myself understand and I am feeling ok.
So today’s outfit post is to show how you can dress formally and yet be stylish. You need not wear those boring  black trousers and striped or plain colour shirts. So many stylish clothes are available these days which have revolutionized formal dressing for woman. There are two trends which I personally love when it comes to formal dressing, pussy bow ties and pencil skirts. Today im featuring pussy bow tie top with trousers which I love.
Take a look-

trousers-dockers, bag- zara, shoes- carlton london, neck piece– FOREVER 21, watch-polo club, top- GK-M block
On nails-maybelline
The material of the blouse and the trouser is so comfortable, I think its the best for summers. I would say the same thing again, that I believe in comfortable dressing and if you have to sit in the office for hours then you should definitely dress comfortably. By the way, I love this statement neck piece. Its ivory colour makes it look very elegant. Comfortable+stylish= win win.
You can wear something like this, to office, to a meeting or to a formal lunch. You can change the accessories and get different looks according to the purpose.
I hope my post helped you out.
Do tell me your work wear essentials and share your thoughts on my post.
